Workshops & Community Events

Superior Science workshops consist of enthusiastic instructors visiting your classroom or student-group for 60-90 minutes to present fun, hands-on science activities. Each workshop consists of a small lesson involving a captivating PowerPoint presentation followed by demonstrations and hands on activities. All workshops correspond to the Ontario Science and Technology Curriculum and assist teachers in their curriculum planning. The goal of our workshops is to empower children to explore new types or STEM and expand their science literacy. At Superior Science, we feel that students should be given the opportunity to experience hands-on science, which emphasizes essential scientific skills such as exploration, observation, problem solving and interpretation.

COMMUNITY EVENTS

Superior Science is very proud of the work that has been done within Northwestern Ontario through many various community events. Superior Science has participated in events such as school barbecues, science fairs, Lakehead University events, Canada Day celebrations, and much more! At this events, we normally bring a few fun and interactive activities that get the kids involved and engaged in different aspects of STEM. These activities range from creating model birds, to playing the piano with a Makey Makey hooked up to bananas! Some examples include Makey Makeys, Ozobots, Egg Drop, Rocket Launcher, and our infamous Vortex Cannon. Superior Science does charge a small fee for coming to community events to help cover labour, travel (if necessary), and material costs. However, the cost varies depending on the location and activities being done!
